Preview Friv Game: Battlefield - Bad Company 2

Bad Company is not a very well-known name for us. The thing is that the first part (and the only story Friv game under the Battlefield brand so far ) was published exclusively on consoles, so it was as if we were not destined to find out that the warriors from the "bad company" are the main characters. And we do not know the distinctive features of this alternative branch either. But for some time now it is known that Bad Company 2 is not only to be, but to be on our platform, so at IgroMir we looked at the Friv5Online Games Studio stand and talked with the “first hands”.

We were not told anything about the campaign and the plot - the translator immediately said that even questions should not be asked about it. This is very strange, since in the spring the developers showed missions from the campaign to some foreign resources and revealed a little history ... Why is that? Well, for example, because it is based on another mega-battle between the United States and Russia. Even the action takes place a year ago, which attracted the attention of Abkhazia. Well, what do you think it would be convenient to talk about this at an exhibition in Moscow? I also think not, so they did not say. However, already on this occasion, I would like to note that now we have recently released Rogue Warrior and Modern Warfare 2. And who were the main enemies there? Russians, of course. Moreover, both projects are characterized by completely miserable inscriptions and entourage. INCoD - our military with American shotguns and signposts at the All Out airport; and Rogue Warrior has the "Supply" mark on the standard gray boxes. Powerful? Somehow Arnie and his "Cocainum!"

In fact, it is not even the traditional crookedness of Russian texts that catches up with bad thoughts (our native speakers translate it - even cry), but this tendency that Russians are again bears, again evil. Somehow, you know, not original. And for a long time. And who will be interested in playing for the "gallant American special forces" for the ten thousandth time already?

Okay. On this we will finish with the plot - all the same, we did not manage to find out anything more, and what I was able to dig up does not tell us anything, because the developers always show everything in comparison. For example, in the second part, the characters will be more serious than in the first. Got it, thanks.

Now about the network mode. Since that was the only thing that was allowed to talk about, I tortured the developer for a long time and with passion. Let's start in order. The action in multiplayer will take place in the locations where the campaign takes place (just like in Modern Warfare 2 ). That is, we will fight in the mountains of Abkhazia and in the vicinity, even in Alaska and in other places. It is clear that the United States and Russia are involved in the conflict - this can be seen from the emblems on the equipment (well, the plot, as it were, hints), and some comrades do not even hide the stripes on the sleeves - "Russia".

Before entering the battle, we must choose a class that we will play (what does that remind me of, hmm?): Engineer, scout, medic or attack aircraft. On the next screen, select the weapon with which we will fight. While it is difficult to judge the diversity, but if you believe the available information, there will definitely be: AK-74, something similar to the G36, something no less similar to the Degtyarev machine gun, XM-8, which was lit in Crysis, grenade launchers, sniper rifles , various pistols and much more. Most likely, Bad Company 2 will not lose face in front of its predecessors, so the achievement system and an extensive selection of guns will also appear here.

There won't be any particularly new regimes. The same points that need to be captured, plus the familiar Rush console players, in which one team needs to do something (blow up the boxes), and the other - to prevent them (guard the boxes). In addition, the maps here will not be as prohibitively huge as in other Friv games in the series. The maximum number of participants in a skirmish is 24 (versus 64). This is done so that team actions are less strategic, and more tactical - so that each team member is appreciated and takes a significant part in the battle.

So we got acquainted with the standard "what will be", now we turn to the main feature of the project - destructible buildings. To the base, to the root, completely. And it is on this that the emphasis of the entire gameplay is made. Especially in multiplayer. Just imagine, you are fighting. The enemy sat down in a small two-story house, fires back from the windows, and you are stuck and cannot knock him out of there. How are similar situations dealt with in other projects? For example (we will not go far), in Modern Warfare 2, one side throws the other with dozens of stunning-blinding-exploding grenades, and then impudently falls into the whole gang. In Bad Company 2, the enemy can be smoked out much easier - we just blow up the house. And those who were inside will die, for which they will give us well-deserved points.

Just think of the tactical perspectives this opportunity opens up before us. The fence interferes - let's demolish it. The building stands menacingly, does not give a view - a volley at it! This is also a plus to the dynamics - there are no permanent shelters, nowhere to reliably hide - everything can be destroyed very brazenly and straightforwardly.

When it comes to explosions and demolitions, Bad Company 2 houses are not subject to very, very honest physics. Here, like Lucas in Star Wars. The director even emphasized that space would be empty and black if ships did not explode in it brightly and colorfully. In Bad Company 2, buildings prevail over science and fold in such a way that it is pleasant to look at it from the outside. The rest of the environment is also not far behind - trees can be demolished in the same way as in Crysis.

Traditionally for the Battlefield series, technology has a huge influence (that's what Modern Warfare 2no and never will). The locations here are vast enough to ride an ATV, fly a helicopter, and drive a tank into the mud of the faces and other organs of the enemy. I will say more: all moving technical things are of paramount importance here. The cards, remember, are not that big (they are mediocre). Units are generally tiny by the standards of past Friv games, so a whole tank (or something similar) is a great value. Rather, even a whole tactical unit, since what is the easiest way to demolish an unwanted house? A shot from the main battery, of course!

On the whole, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 leaves a good impression. Mainly, of course, thanks to the colorful picture, very realistic graphics and destructibility. If we discard this next idiocy about oil, Russia and the war, then a very good Friv game with an interesting network mode will come out - here there is definitely where to turn around for fans to shoot and ride. Everything is even more interesting here, since Bad Company 2 has no sane competitors (at least on our platform). Where else can we ride a tank with pleasure and command tactics? And nowhere ( ArmA 2 somehow does not fit, it is too complicated, too realistic). There is, for example, Halo 3 on consoles, but what about us? Now we can proudly say - and we will haveBad Company 2!
